Rees Jones golf courses are simply said, beautiful.

Known for his excellence, Rees Jones has earned the nickname, “The Open Doctor” referring to the amount of courses he’s designed that have been used in championships including the U.S. Open, Ryder Cup, and PGA Championship. Our courses do not disappoint. With 29 holes in our golf community there are an incredible amount of play through options leaving you with the opportunity to perfect your swing.

about our golf courses

First designed in 1986, our course was 20 holes long and designed to bring out the best in the game and golfer. Jones’ returned to Daufuskie Island in 2007 to restore the greens and sharpen the course’s legacy as one of the best in the nation. We increased the yardage from 7,150 to 7,380 and increased our USGA rating. Additionally, our 9-hole Osprey course allows you to get in some game play without having to commit to a full 18 holes.

The Signature Course

Our Signature course has appeared in Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Courses” and “Best in State,” and has earned a coveted position in Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 in the World.” When we say we truly have the best, we aren’t lying. Part of the fun of playing our Signature course is the fact that both the 8th and 17th holes have two holes to choose from making this a true challenge. Par is 72 on this 74.9 rated course. The Bermuda grass has a slope rating of 142 and can be challenging but is completely worth it.

The Osprey Course

This 9-hole beauty boasts breathtaking surroundings and views. It offers a fast, family-friendly option for those who are new to the game or would like a relaxing round. The Osprey course consists of Bermuda grass and has a rating of 74.9 with a slope rating of 142 with par being 36. This makes for a great short play so you can get in some practice while enjoying the outdoors.

Rees Jones' Perspective

“I’ve been fortunate to design golf courses at some of the greatest sites in the world and Haig Point is no exception. It’s not a surprise to see it on many “Top-100” lists, it’s that good. Haig Point is an example of my changing design philosophy. I originally created the course with numerous pot bunkers that were in vogue at the time. Now, many have been replaced by windswept, more natural looking, sand traps and waste areas that are more fitting to the surroundings. The community provides a wonderful sense of life, a pristine environment, and separates you from the turmoil in which we live. It’s hard to argue why you would want to be anywhere else than here.” – Rees Jones
